Project Overview

The project involved the repair of a split tee cap installed on the 24-inch Trans-Niger Pipeline (TNP) to address integrity concerns such as leakage, corrosion, or mechanical damage. The objective was to restore pressure containment, ensure operational safety, and maintain the reliability of the pipeline system.

The scope of work included excavation and exposure of the split tee assembly, inspection and assessment of the defective cap, surface preparation, removal or repair of the damaged component, installation of a new or refurbished cap in accordance with engineering specifications, and torque tightening to required standards.

The scope covered controlled isolation, removal of defective pipeline sections, installation of replacement spools, and reinstatement in line with approved engineering and safety procedures. Execution was carefully planned to manage access challenges, particularly within swamp terrains, while maintaining strict environmental and safety controls.

The repairs successfully restored pipeline integrity and operational reliability, ensuring continued safe operation of the pipeline systems with minimal disruption and full compliance with integrity management requirements.
